For years, the official Roof Transport System was the only real choice for a 996/997 roof rack. But with the RTS now discontinued, and alternatives either also discontinued or just plain bad, we had do something.
Our rack starts with Thule 753 / 460R towers (sold separately), or Aeroblade Edge integrated bars if those are available for you. We made mounts for them using CNC laser-cut carbon steel brackets and specially 3D printed TPU gaskets - they're dense for stiffness and stability, but the outer layers are foamed up to conform to your roofline and protect your paint. The rear crossbar adds an extra-tall mount with a cosmetic spacer to level out the two bars, giving us the ultimate roof rack: - Low: With standard towers and bars it's already great, but with Aeroblade Edge bars the rack can be so low that the clamps for some roof boxes touch the sunroof! - Quiet: Modern Thule aero bars produce far less wind noise than the 20-year-old RTS. - Sleek: Even if fuel efficiency is not your priority, you get more smiles for more miles when your roof-box equipped 996/997 returns almost the same MPG's as a bare one. - Easy: The mounts are just one screw each and the crossbars four, making both install and removal a 10-minute job.
Note: Photos contain some prototype unfinished parts. Our production steel brackets come powdercoated black, and the rear mount spacer will come in gloss black with the "ArtnD" logo debossed.
